Overview

This program is designed for middle to senior managers and executives. It provides the individual with the ability to lead change and innovation at an organisational level. It also includes creating the environment conducive to taking risks, analysing opportunities for change and innovation, and applying systems thinking to lead change and innovation.

The leadership program incorporates the five learning domains (Knowledge & Analysis, Application and Adaptation, Innovation and Value Creation, Social Intelligence and Ethics, & Learning to Learn) that are most relevant to leadership and management education for busy and senior executives. It uses the 70:20:10 approach (10% from formal learning and structured programs. 20% from feedback, mentoring, coaching, networks, and from observing and working with role models; and 70% from real life and on-the-job experiences, tasks, and problem solving).

Certificate Participants:

Those who attend all four sessions and complete all assessments successfully will receive a Certificate of Completion (with Merit if assessment marks are Distinction or High Distinction).

Participants who do not attend all four sessions or are not able to complete all three assessments successfully will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Knowledge and Analysis

The ability to understand:

  • Legal and ethical considerations relating to organizational change initiatives
  • Relevant professional or industry codes of practice and standards relating to organisational change initiatives
  • Key concepts and importance of a learning organisation relating to organisational change
  • The differences between and attributes of positive and negative risks
  • Market trends and developments relating to organizational change initiatives

Application and Adaptation

  • Encourage enterprising behaviours and risk-taking to support and develop an innovative organisational culture
  • Provide opportunities for all employees to provide feedback and explore ideas and opportunities for change and innovation
  •  Analyse organisational performance data, systems and behaviours that may affect the achievement of organizational goals to identify opportunities for growth or improvement
  • Support and encourage organisation members to identify and prioritise opportunities for change and innovation
  • Identify potential blockers and drivers of change and innovation to prepare appropriate responses
  • Lead senior management team to develop and communicate the organisation's change strategy to facilitate change implementation

Innovation and Value Creation

  • Identify strategies to pursue opportunities for change and innovation using system thinking.

Social Intelligence and Ethics

  • Assess the emotional climate of the organisation and demonstrate openness to address stakeholders' concerns on organisational change initiatives.

Learning to Learn

  • Engage in regular self-reflection to identify own areas for improvement in leading organisational change management
  • Improve own organisational change management skills by subscribing to diverse learning channels and participating in peer discussion platforms to enhance workplace performance.
